The answer is really up to you and depends on where you live and how much support and supplies you will have around you in the aftermath of a disaster.
All of our Emergency Preparedness Kits come standard with 3-days of survival food and water. Keep in mind that the amount of food and water contained in our kits is the minimum amount required to sustain life after a disaster.
Disaster Preparedness experts are now starting to recommend more than 3 days supply of emergency food and emergency water, some suggesting at least 5 to 7 days. It is very easy to upgrade your Survival Kit to this level simply by adding additional food and water to your emergency kit, which is very inexpensive. We highly recommend adding food and water to our kits, especially under the following conditions: high heat conditions, extreme physical activity after a disaster as a result of search and/or rescue activities, if you are or are caring for the elderly and/or small children, or those with any kind of sickness or medical condition that requires more water. Heavier people will also require more food and water to be comfortable. Even if none of the above conditions exist, you may want to consider additional food and water supplies to your Disaster Preparedness Kit just for comfort and survival safety. |
